bio:
the second sole running group was
established in 1998 and has grown to over 300 members. the group
welcomes all levels of runners and walkers. our goal is to promote the
sport of running in a fun and safe manner and to enhance the fitness
level of our members.

runs:
group runs are listed in the "run
locations" link and on the forum. we offer runs on tuesday, thursday,
saturday, and sunday.
training
philosophy:
the group training plan offers a
progressive program to develop endurance, strength, and pace. workouts
are tailored for three general groups of runners: beginners, road
racers, and marathoners. tuesday evenings typically focus on speed with
shorter intervals such as quarter-mile and half-mile repeats and
strength with longer intervals and tempo runs. these runs are also
offered on some saturday mornings rotated with a bi-monthly progressive
long run to build endurance. thursday evenings we
offer an easy to moderate paced run for aerobic maintenance. sunday
mornings focus on easy aerobic maintenance and active recovery runs.
we
run hills repeats on some saturday and sunday mornings at the zoo.
